Sous Chef at Victoria Golf Resort, Kandy. Assist the Executive Chef in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety across all kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety across all kitchen operations
- Identify potential health hazards within the kitchen and ensure strict compliance with cleanliness, hygiene protocols, and HACCP standards
- Support efforts to control and minimize food wastage while ensuring costs align with budgetary requirements
- Monitor staff adherence to proper food handling and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date staff records
- Ensure all kitchen operations are conducted within the allocated budget
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels at all times to support smooth kitchen operations
Requirements
- Possess a Diploma in Cookery from a recognized hotel school
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within a star-class hotel
- A friendly, outgoing, and hospitable team player
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and HACCP compliance
- Basic understanding of cost control, inventory management, and waste reduction techniques
