Assistant Manager - Tax

About the Role

Assistant Manager - Tax at EY Sri Lanka, in Transfer Pricing practice. Play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality transfer pricing consulting, compliance, and advisory services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review complex compliance and advisory assignments, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery
• Manage a broad portfolio of both local and multinational clients, developing strong long-term professional relationships
• Represent clients before the Inland Revenue Department and the Tax Appeals Commission, including preparation and presentation of submissions for appeal hearings
• Collaborate with EY global teams on cross-border and international tax matters relevant to Sri Lanka
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and supervision to junior team members, helping develop their tax capabilities and professional skills

Requirements

• A recognised academic or professional qualification in accounting, finance or law (e.g., CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA). A combination of accounting and legal qualifications is an added advantage
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in taxation, finance, or consulting, with prior tax experience considered a strong advantage
• Strong analytical and interpretative skills, with the ability to handle complex technical matters
• Excellent written communication and client-handling skills in English
