Operations Manager – Cinnamon Processing Center

About the Role

Lead daily operations of the Kahawatte Plantations cinnamon processing facility in Opanayake, driving efficiency, quality, and food safety standards for the MJF Group.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations at the cinnamon processing center
• Create and enforce standard operating procedures
• Monitor production targets and operational KPIs
• Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements
• Lead and develop processing workforce
• Coordinate raw material procurement and inventory
• Drive waste reduction and yield optimisation
• Prepare operational performance reports
• Implement risk mitigation strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Food Technology, Engineering, or related field
• 5–8 years in manufacturing/agro-processing with minimum 3 years in managerial role
• Cinnamon or spice processing experience advantageous
• Food safety standards knowledge (HACCP, ISO, SLS)
• MS Office proficiency; ERP system familiarity preferred
