Medical Officer

About the Role

Join Durdans Hospital's clinical team in Colombo as a Medical Officer. Conduct ward rounds, manage medical and surgical emergencies, maintain accurate patient records, educate patients on discharge care, and liaise with consultants on patient management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular ward rounds and clerk new admissions within two hours
• Maintain accurate, legible patient records and diagnosis cards
• Manage medical/surgical emergencies until higher care is available
• Educate patients and guardians about discharge care and follow-up treatment
• Communicate clinical findings to consultants clearly and effectively
• Participate in clinical audits and comply with infection control protocols
• Execute consultant instructions promptly and provide patient updates

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Full registration with Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC)
