Tech Lead - Data Engineering

About the Role

Lead technical teams in designing and delivering high-quality data analytics solutions while mentoring engineers at a Colombo-based IT consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical solution design and delivery of analytics and data engineering projects
• Guide and mentor developers, ensuring coding standards and best practices
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements
• Review technical solutions and resolve complex issues
• Oversee testing, deployment, go-live activities, and post-implementation support
• Work closely with Solution Architects and Project Managers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics
• Proven experience leading technical teams
• In-depth understanding of data warehouse architecture and ETL pipeline development
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, ETL processes, and modern data technologies
• Agile/Scrum experience
