About the Role
Legal Officer to provide legal aid, case management and court representation for survivors of gender-based violence in the Anuradhapura region through WIN's crisis centre.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and representation to survivors of domestic violence and GBV
- Prepare and file legal documents including protection orders and petitions
- Represent clients in Magistrate and District Courts in the Anuradhapura region
- Maintain case files and accurate legal documentation
- Coordinate with WIN counsellors and crisis centre staff
- Conduct community outreach and legal awareness programs
- Compile case statistics and reports for management and donors
Requirements
- Attorney-at-Law admitted to the Bar in Sri Lanka
- 1-3 years of post-admission legal experience
- Knowledge of domestic violence, family law and child protection legislation
- Commitment to gender equality and women's rights
- Proficiency in Sinhala; Tamil language skills an advantage
- Willingness to work in Anuradhapura and travel within the region
