Deputy Manager – Legal

About the Role

Senior legal professional to manage legal affairs, regulatory compliance and litigation for a publicly listed finance company with 15+ branches across Sri Lanka.

Responsibilities

• Manage legal documentation for all lending, leasing and deposit products
• Handle debt recovery proceedings and liaise with courts and sheriffs
• Review and draft commercial contracts, MOUs and facility agreements
• Ensure compliance with CBSL directions, Finance Business Act and other regulations
• Advise on employment law and HR legal matters
• Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation and arbitration
• Manage branch-level legal queries and provide guidance to operations staff

Requirements

• Attorney-at-Law admitted to the Bar in Sri Lanka
• Minimum 5-7 years of legal experience in the financial services sector
• Strong knowledge of CBSL regulations, Finance Business Act and debt recovery law
• Experience managing recovery proceedings and court cases
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
