About the Role
CAGS Academy seeks an academic staff member with a gemmology qualification to assist with lectures, practical lab sessions, and curriculum development at their Malabe campus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with lectures, practical sessions, and assessments
- Develop and update course materials to international standards
- Supervise laboratory work and mentor students on career pathways
- Contribute to curriculum development
Requirements
- Gemmology diploma (Gem-A FGA/DGA, GIA GG, DGemG or equivalent) – desirable
- Diploma or degree in Science, Applied Science, Education, or related field
- Minimum 1 year experience in gem, jewellery, or gemmology education (advantageous)
- Knowledge of gemstone testing equipment and lab procedures (advantageous)
- Strong English and Sinhala communication skills
