Legal Officer

About the Role

Commercially-minded Legal Officer at Lassana Group providing strategic legal support across a diversified conglomerate's business units including e-commerce, retail, agriculture, and bakery, covering contract management, compliance, IP, labour law, and company secretarial work.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial contracts and agreements
• Ensure regulatory compliance and protect Group legal interests
• Manage complete contract lifecycle including renewals and amendments
• Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, labour, and operational matters
• Conduct legal research on legislative changes
• Handle contractual disputes through negotiation
• Represent organization in legal proceedings
• Manage company and trademark registrations and secretarial functions
• Maintain contract templates and documentation systems

Requirements

• Attorney-at-Law qualification (Supreme Court of Sri Lanka) with Notary Public credentials
• Authorized practice in Sinhala and English (Colombo Judicial Zone preferred)
• Corporate or commercial legal practice experience
• Expertise in contract drafting and negotiation
• Knowledge of Companies Act, IP Act, Labour Laws, and Food Acts
• Company secretarial and statutory compliance experience
