About the Role

Technical lead for infrastructure delivery on an EU-funded UN project, overseeing construction, contractor supervision, QA/QC, HSSE compliance, and stakeholder coordination with climate-resilient design principles.

Responsibilities

Lead planning and technical delivery aligned with UNOPS standards
Integrate climate resilience and biodiversity principles into infrastructure design
Oversee site investigations and feasibility studies
Direct contractor and consultant supervision ensuring compliance with designs and contracts
Implement QA/QC procedures and monitor HSSE requirements
Track schedule, budget, and performance against approved plans
Prepare progress reports covering performance, safety, and quality
Supervise technical staff and deliver training on construction supervision and HSSE

Requirements

Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Structural Engineering (highly desirable)
Extensive professional experience in infrastructure implementation and construction supervision
Demonstrated expertise managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams
FIDIC contract frameworks familiarity desirable
Environmental or biodiversity project experience advantageous
English fluency required; Sinhala or Tamil proficiency an asset
