About the Role
Technical lead for infrastructure delivery on an EU-funded UN project, overseeing construction, contractor supervision, QA/QC, HSSE compliance, and stakeholder coordination with climate-resilient design principles.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and technical delivery aligned with UNOPS standards
- Integrate climate resilience and biodiversity principles into infrastructure design
- Oversee site investigations and feasibility studies
- Direct contractor and consultant supervision ensuring compliance with designs and contracts
- Implement QA/QC procedures and monitor HSSE requirements
- Track schedule, budget, and performance against approved plans
- Prepare progress reports covering performance, safety, and quality
- Supervise technical staff and deliver training on construction supervision and HSSE
Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Structural Engineering (highly desirable)
- Extensive professional experience in infrastructure implementation and construction supervision
- Demonstrated expertise managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- FIDIC contract frameworks familiarity desirable
- Environmental or biodiversity project experience advantageous
- English fluency required; Sinhala or Tamil proficiency an asset
