Manager - ESG Unit

About the Role

Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of People's Bank's ESG framework, ensuring alignment of sustainability initiatives with corporate strategy, CBSL regulatory requirements, and international ESG standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and IFRS Sustainability Standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Bank's ESG strategy aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory expectations
• Coordinate ESG initiatives across departments to promote an organisation-wide approach
• Monitor and report on environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance practices against national and international ESG standards
• Lead preparation of ESG disclosures, sustainability reports, and stakeholder communications
• Serve as the central point of contact for internal and external ESG engagements including regulators, investors, and rating agencies
• Facilitate staff awareness, training, and capacity building on ESG matters
• Track emerging ESG trends, regulatory changes, and best practices
• Ensure ESG data collection, analysis, and reporting processes are standardised and audit-ready
• Assist in setting ESG performance indicators and monitoring progress toward defined goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability Management, Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, Risk Management, Accounting, Law, or Social Science
• Certificate or diploma in ESG or Sustainability from a recognized professional body
• Master's degree in Sustainability, ESG, Finance, or Business Administration is an added advantage
• Minimum 1 to 5 years post-degree experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate governance, risk management, compliance, banking, or finance
