AI Backend Engineer

About the Role

Design and build scalable backend services and AI/LLM integration pipelines including RAG systems and vector search for a healthcare technology platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Develop microservices and event-driven architectures for AI applications
• Integrate Large Language Models and build RAG pipelines
• Design vector search and semantic retrieval systems
• Optimize inference performance and costs
• Implement database schemas and data pipelines
• Build observability and monitoring solutions

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong distributed systems and system design knowledge
• Production API design experience
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently
