About the Role

Entry-level temporary academic position supporting the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo with undergraduate teaching and course facilitation, posted June 2026.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering lectures and tutorials in English Language and/or English Literature
• Support the preparation and updating of course materials
• Assist in marking assignments and examinations
• Provide academic guidance to students
• Participate in departmental meetings and activities

Requirements

• A good first or second class honours degree in English from a recognized university
• Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
• Strong written and spoken English proficiency
• Some teaching, tutoring, or related academic experience preferred
